“Canadian Authors Association is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit association dedicated to “writers helping writers.” We provide information, support and opportunities for growth and development to our membership.
The National Capital Region Branch gives you access to the benefits, resources and networking opportunities of CAA at the national level, as well as the initiatives and programs at the Branch level.”
Other good things about the CAA:
If you are part of the CAA, you have access to the Writers’ Coalition Health & Dental Program.
They have a great newsletter – really good – and you don’t even need to be member to receive it. Every other week it comes into your inbox jammed packed with local and national writing news, calls for submissions, contests, workshops, etc. (Click onto this page and scroll to the bottom where it says “weeklies”. Don’t miss their lit mag,Byline)
Also, they look for volunteers, so if you want to get into a writing community – here’s an open door.
And they also have a good resource page. No surprise in that, actually.
